Coradiant's TrueSight Real-User Web Transaction Monitoring Selected for ISI Web of Knowledge

Real-time, real-user monitoring watches actual user Web traffic and detects and identifies performance issues and application faults before users report problems

WALTHAM, Mass., January 4, 2005--Coradiant, Inc. announced today that Thomson Scientific, a business of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), has selected Coradiant's award-winning TrueSight appliance for real-time Web performance monitoring of the innovative ISI Web of KnowledgeSM information solution in North America and Europe. Thomson Scientific is a creator of high quality, innovative information tools for researchers and information professionals worldwide and will use TrueSight to monitor the actual performance delivered to all ISI Web of Knowledge users in real-time, and to detect Web delivery issues before they affect customer satisfaction. TrueSight reduces problem detection and mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) by over 80% compared to traditional network monitoring schemes.

"TrueSight enables us to discover critical Web issues developing, before we receive user reports or alarms. We are able to quickly interrogate TrueSight's stored transaction data and drill down to identify and prevent problems," said Ken MacKay, vice president of Web and Data Center Operations for Thomson Scientific. "TrueSight precisely measures the new client experience during the early stages of deployment, to ensure the Thomson high-quality, essential information is delivered with maximum customer satisfaction."

ISI Web of Knowledge facilitates discovery by offering seamless navigation to the highest quality content, evaluation tools, and bibliographic management products. The platform provides innovative search tools for cross content and Web document searching, and is equipped with a sophisticated, robust linking gateway.
Coradiant's TrueSight is the first appliance that provides accurate, detailed information on the performance and integrity of Web business applications – in real-time, exactly as users experience them. TrueSight's revolutionary Watchpoint technology lets companies see all traffic going to a system and watch what matters to their business. As a result, they find and fix problems quickly, and eliminate the many hours traditionally required to discover problems and determine root cause. TrueSight's approach is especially important to multi-tiered Web systems that are increasingly complex, making them difficult to monitor effectively with traditional infrastructure and synthetic testing. By contrast, TrueSight's real-user monitoring sees 100% of real user interactions and records forensic detail. Technical teams are armed with the facts they need to quickly determine where problems originate from and resolve issues that affect performance and availability before they become system-wide problems.
